Culinary in Vienna: 'Sparkling Spring Picknick' at the Heldenplatz serves baskets filled with Mediterranean cuisine inspired dishes and sparkling drinks (from May)

The location of the 'Sparkling Spring Picknick' at the Heldenplatz in front of the Weltmuseum and Nationalbibliothek (Austrian National Library) is one of the largest grass areas in the Inner City of Vienna. Decades ago, the mainly for the public non-accessible green spaces around the Hofburg were opened for the population. Since then they have been used as recreation areas for time-outs with holiday-flair in the metropolis.

The organizers of the 'Sparkling Spring Picknick' started the outdoor culinary offer last year as additional service of the 'Heldenbar' which serves since 2018 from May to October drinks and snacks at the Heldenplatz. The picnic service will be available with optional blanket rental. The online reservation is possible via heldenbar.at.
