Fashion.at's one pot recipe with oriental seasoning: Lentil pan with carrots, red peppers and chicken, spiced with cumin and cinnamon

Today, Fashion.at tested a new recipe for the second time after a week. Both times it has been well received by different 'eaters' with different tastes and preferences. The recipe is on the best way to become a Fashion.at favorite - for various sorts of good reasons. The advantage of the meal is that a quantity of 6 portions can be prepared relatively quickly and energy-saving in about 20 minutes cooking time in one pot and tastes - like chili con carne or goulash - even better the next day. It's an ideal dish for intergenerational get-togethers, meetings with friends, or simply if you need to cook for two days in advance. The lentil pan with oriental seasoning can be quickly reheated.

The inspiration for the recipe was taken from a search after dishes with lentils and carrots online. Fashion.at refined the information from the found recipes with more vegetables (carrots, red pepper), less spice, added crème fraîche for the rounder taste and finalized the dish with dried cranberries for the sweet surprise.

Ingredients for 6 portions:

4x chicken filet
5x medium carrots
1x medium onion
4x garlic cloves
3x red peppers
1kg steamed lentils
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon cumin
1/2 liter beef broth
Handful of dried cranberries
1 1/2 tablespoons crème fraîche
Salt and pepper
Olive oil

Preparation:

Finely chop the garlic and onion
Cut meat into cubes
Cut the carrots and peppers into small pieces
Heat the oil in a pan
Add the garlic and onion, then the chicken
After about 4 minutes add the pieces of carrot, after about another 5 minutes add the pieces of pepper and the lentils
Simmer on a low flame for 10 minutes and pour in the beef broth continuously
For a rounder taste, stir in the crème fraîche
Just before it's done, season with cumin and cinnamon and add a handful of dried cranberries
Season with salt and pepper
