Insights into new location of antiquities and cultural objects store 'Die Glasfabrik' in Vienna

The opening of the new 3-floor store by the antiquities and cultural goods experts of 'Die Glasfabrik' at the location Felberstrasse 3 nearby railway station Westbahnhof received already lot of attention by Viennese media such as by the daily news publications Der Standard, Vienna.at (with video insights and interview), or Kurier.at; last mentioned points out that one of the remarkable features at Glasfabrik's new location is the arrangement of the pieces.

Fashion.at visited the opening of Glasfabrik on 17 November at Felberstrasse 3 and found there arrangements of design objects, art works, furniture and cultural objects which reach back from the 1970s to the 17th century.

fig. from above, right (clockwise): The arrangements are created by the team members of Glasfabrik such as Olivier who styled the commode with lamps, a painting with ships and small drawings of oldtimers. The composition of the items mediates the history of engineering and spreads the spirit of adventure, traveling.

By the way: Glasfabrik pays tribute to the theme 'traveling' with an own room where currently an old type writer is placed on a table in a setting which may remind visitors of a hotel room with terrace and bar - somewhere on the route of an author such as Ernest Hemingway... The traveling room with rattan furniture and authentic vintage - perhaps already world traveling, luggage is on view at the picture above.

The first image (above, left) on this page shows the entry to the antiquities and cultural objects store with view at Glasfabrik's own café (at the picture left behind the glass wall in the setting of a 1950s coffee bar) where visitors can chill.

The inventory of the store is unique. It's collected and if necessary restored by the Glasfabrikanten such as the team members of Glasfabrik are named.

Fashion.at's impression of 'Die Glasfabrik': An adventure pool for treasure seekers.
