Ski touring tip for 2019: Three days with an expert in the mountains of Silberregion Karwendel in Tyrol, Austria

Mountains in spring, summer or in autumn, winter are classical recreation and sports areas of the Austrians. And every season, some of the latest tips directly from the regions are provided with professional recommendations for safe explorations - especially when it comes to tours for example in winter outside of the secure slope zones. The danger of avalanches shouldn't be underestimated and without the knowledge of the region, a tour can end tragically.

Silberregion Karwendel, Tyrol teamed up with educated alpine guide, mountaineer, ski instructor and outdoor photographer Stephan Keck for three 3-days-camp-tours that can be booked already online for January, February or March 2019. Stephan Keck, born in the region, is a world traveller. One of the projects, Stephan Keck participated in was the biopic 'Manaslu - Berg der Seelen' (teaser trailer) about the life of mountaineer Hans Kammerlander, shot among other locations in Nepal, Himalayas. The film will be released on 14 December 2018 in Austria, South Tyrol and in early January in Germany.

Well, Karwendel mountains aren't the Himalayas, but it's also here in Austria better to experience backcountry with professional guides. More information about the tour which starts at the basic camp (1.887 meters, map) at Hecherhaus, Kellerjoch (Cellar Yoke) near Schwaz with professional introductions into safety (weather, route planning) at the mountains inclusively the possibility to test high-tech material can be found at silberregion-karwendel.com. The tour can be joined by the whole family with kids (minimum age 10 years).
