Austria's strategy amidst coronavirus outbreak: The show must go on!

It's the first week of self-isolation in Austria and people have already mastered to face the new situation in an astonishing relaxed - from the government well orchestrated - mode. The braveness of doctors, nurses and supporting disciplines in the field health, or the courage of groceries' salespersons and public service employees who risk their health, is one of the big themes nowadays. Today on Thursday, working from the home office is for the country's media industry already a fact. Journalists, editors, public relation specialists, marketing professionals,... work when it's possible, such as recommended by the government, from home.

In Austria, the coronavirus has high impact on all media types; but let's throw light on TV. TV news rooms spread (even via social media) the most trustworthy constantly changing statistics from the whole world, report directly from political press conferences about new measures to prevent the further spreading of the virus and explain, estimate together with experts the planned strategies in the fight against an economic collapse. The broadcasters' entertainment departments are challenged by the virus as well. Especially live-shows with close interactions between participants, such as it happens at 'Dancing Stars', had to be canceled; yesterday, Eurovision Song Contest 2020 was postponed.

But the sh
ows will go on, don't worry!

From 15 April, the 2nd season of the collaborative home interior design show 'Design Dream' by IKEA and TV channel ProSieben Austria will start. Each week, four designers will join a new interior challenge and turn a problematic home space, from the bed room to the whole apartment, into a design-highlight.
