Bene presents award winning furniture line 'Ports' designed by Pearson Lloyd for a new style of working: Think of computer ports, harbors when planning tomorrow's work environments!

Supporting hierarchical structures? Presentation of status? These are not the intentions of the new furniture line 'Ports' by Austrian workplace furnishing specialist Bene. The first associations with the name of the furniture line's might be computer 'ports' which enable digitally powered teamwork wherever people are located but also harbors to anchor ships.

The in Lower Austria headquartered company teamed up again with British design duo Pearson Lloyd consisting of Luke Pearson and Tom Lloyd who are focusing their work on the creation of functional spaces such as cabin design for Lufthansa. Now, for their latest collaboration with Bene, the duo developed how it's stated at the accompanying text of the recently posted video (embedded below) "a revolutionary new office concept". The realization of the idea of furniture (lounges, tables, storages), which can be arranged flexibly for the creation of individual spaces where people can connect with others and share information, has received already international attention. The list of awards at the website of Bene is long; relatively new are the entries for the new line Ports which received the prestigious Red Dot Design Award 2020 in the category 'best of the best'. The Red Dot Design Award jury stated "With its people-oriented design, the PORTS product family ideally embodies the scenarios and spatial situations of tomorrow's work environments. ..." Bene publishes an interview with the designers at bene.com. Asked if Ports is created for the office only, Luke Pearson said: "I see PORTS as at home in a hotel lobby, airport lounge or office. Conventional work boundaries will continue to emerge as new technologies make our working life more blended."
