Insight into the presentation of fashion by Austro-Hungarian designer Edith Agay at the Embassy of Hungary in Vienna

Fashion.at followed the invitation to the fashion presentation of Austro-Hungarian designer Edith Agay with special performance by opera singer Natalia Ushakova on 9 January at the Embassy of Hungary in Vienna.

The palais where the embassy is located is impressive. The history dates back to the 17th century; since the mid-18th century, it has been used by Hungary for official duties. The close relations between the two countries Austria and Hungary, which belonged once together in a monarchy, breathes through the building and is visualized by portraits of icons of both histories with special focus on Empress Elisabeth, probably widely better known as 'Sisi'. Ambassador Dr. Andor Nagy referenced on this evening the partly same history and pointed out the popularity of Empress Elisabeth of Austria who was also Queen of Hungary and at her time an international fashion icon - perhaps one of the first international superstars.

The fashion presentation of Edith Agay's ready to wear and couture pieces happened at the palais' glamorously gold sparkling ballroom - a perfect match for the items (highlights are golden knits and satin dresses in gold and red) of the Spring/Summer 2020 collection with the name '..light' (pictures published at edithagay.com). The invitation was followed by more people than expected; the ballroom was full to bursting point without causing a break in the good atmosphere. Opera singer Natalia Ushakova, who is known for her zest for life spreading temper, brought entertaining acting into her musical performance; the audience thanked with laughter and applause.
