Preview of furniture design exhibited at blickfang from 9th to 11th October at MAK in Vienna

The traveling design fair blickfang provided insights into the upcoming event on three days from 9 to 11 October at MAK Museum of Applied Arts in Vienna with a strong focus on interior design, furniture. Among the preview, especially comfortable pieces are featured like the red 'pilù' lounge chair by Rossin made from leather and loden (traditional Austrian wool felt fabric). The chair was selected by the curators (designers, architects) of the Viennese design bureau with enclosed shop 'sweet lemoni'. The pilù' chair is designed by Innsbruck (Tyrol) and Munich (Germany) based design team arge2 for Rossin.

Another highlight at the blickfang preview is the lounge chair 'Trans' by Austrian designer Georg Sampl who combined digital and analog production methods described as robotic woodcraft at georgsampl.com. 'Trans' is part of the special exhibition 'Take a Seat' of furniture designed by graduates of the University of Applied Arts Vienna.

The third selection on view on this page is the loft bed by artist, designer Jakob Glasner (studied at the University of Applied Arts). He is one of the two winners of this year's Future Forward competition. Additionally to the bed, Glasner's couch table 'Chaotisch' (can be read as chaotic or chaos and tisch=table) will be on show. At jakobglasner.com/chaotisch, the design motivation behind the table is described with social political, economic reference to carpentry in Austria, the current situation of carpenters in relation to the global furniture business and a possible future for producing furniture together with designers such as the Chaotisch was created for.
