8 February 2020 On occasion of the upcoming 'Wiener Opernball' (Vienna Opera Ball) on 20 February 2020, Swarovski Kristallwelten displays the Swarovski tiaras, which are created each year by international designers for the ball's debutants, inside and at one of the windows of the store at Kärntner Strasse 24 in Vienna.
Image: This year, the tiara appears in a design by Christian Lacroix who was inspired by Mozart's opera 'The Magic Flute' and the Queen of the Night. Christian Lacroix' crown centers a star illuminated by surrounding crystals which appear like planetaries, galaxies. Photo: © vyhnalek.com / Swarovski Kristallwelten. Images: At one of the store windows, the Swarovski tiara 2020 is staged prominently by painter, stage and costume designer Philipp Fürhofer. The image shows the artist in front of his installation at the Swarovski Kristallwelten store in Vienna. The installation is derived from a historical stage once designed by Karl Friedrich Schinkel in 1816 for the Berlin Opera. Fürhofer enters the Magic Flute's game of day and night, good and evil as well as seeing in darkness. The store window reflects the viewers in daylight; through night times, the window opens the sight to the stage's infinite cosmos with starring tiara.
It's announced that the store window is on view until 29 February 2020 (fast checked today at kristallwelten.swarovski.com).
