Tchibo Share publishes new market research findings concerning sharing economy

In January 2018, the German coffee, lifestyle, fashion and electronics retail brand Tchibo started the anti-fast fashion project 'Tchibo Share' with focus on clothing for rent. Consumers can rent items without time limitation for a monthly rate. The range of products for sharing was extended during the two years. Today, users can find even camping gear such as waterproof dry bags, cooler bag, or a self-inflating sleeping mat. Currently, the top products at the website tchibo-share.de are according to the brand's latest media release baby, toddler bodysuits and pajamas as well as ski wear.

Tchibo invests into the research on needs of consumers for the extension of the share range. The results of a market research conducted at the end of last year by asking women (25 - 49 years) with children (under 12 years) show that the interest in sharing increases with the shorter the time the product is worn or used; so for example festive clothing for the christening feast, confirmation, birthdays or outdoor clothing such as for skiing are for women with children favorite goods to share.

Additionally to polls, expert talks with focus on sustainability are held by Tchibo and published as podcasts on Spotify such as the issue 'Nur elf Kleidungsstücke im Schrank' about the sharing economy.
