Tip on the 9th day of 'hard lockdown' in Austria: Advent markets go digital

Today on the 9th day of the hard lockdown in Austria, Advent markets and the extension into the digital online world are a topic. One of the country's most beautiful markets, the Mariazeller Advent launched today its first ever digital edition at advent.mariazell.at where the booths are depicted with closer information about the typical products like honey gingerbread or gastric liqueur (Mariazeller Magenlikör) and links to online shops.

The page starts with a collection of postcards which can be sent via online form, followed by audio files for acoustic impressions of the Advent market such as a jodler or church bells, an Advent calendar (announced are 24 short stories), the above mentioned booths for shopping and further typical traditions practised during Advent in Austria like baking; provided are recipes for vanilla cookies and other sweets.
