Austria Insight: Preview of the sports (fitness, dance, yoga, football,...) programme of the countrywide initiative 'Bewegt im Park' (Moving in the Park), from June until September

Recently, Fashion.at browsed randomly through the programme of the upcoming 'Bewegt im Park' (Moving in the Park) sports courses which are curated by professionals and held by trainers open air in public spaces from 14 June until September in various cities and municipalities in the nine federal states of Austria. The participation is for free and possible without former registration.

'Bewegt im Park' is financed by the umbrella association of Austrian social insurances, the Österreichische Sozialversicherung, which includes the country's health insurance with the most insured persons (over 7 million), the Österreichische Gesundheitskasse - ÖGK. The health insurance ÖGK is also one of the project partners of the initiative. Among the project partners can be found organisations which are important pillars of sports and physical culture in Austria such as the ASKÖ (Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Sport und Körperkultur in Österreich), the SportUnion, or Special Olympics Austria.

The printed programme (on view on this page) shows courses in Vienna in the order of the 23 districts of the city. The first is a dance course starting on the first day of the 'Bewegt im Park' project on 14 June from 17.00 to 18.00 at the Stadtpark in the 1st district. Four dance courses are scheduled at the popular park. Other districts have a more diverse offer such as the 2nd district where football, karate, tai chi, yoga, ultimate frisbee or healthy back courses are announced. Well, it's not said that only home districts can be chosen. Generally, the participation concept is very relaxed. 'Bewegt im Park' events can be accessed without former registration. The aim of the initiative is to create opportunities for physical activities in the open air. The programme lists no competitions. Perhaps the dance classes will provide performance shows...
