Cybersecurity company Kaspersky teamed up with artist Felipe Pantone for an artwork and for the communication of tips how to protect online data and privacy

Argentinian-Spanish artist Felipe Pantone's work is rooted in graffiti and an urban-digital dynamic lifestyle. The artwork 'W3-Structural K' visualizes a protection shield for the Kaspersky campaign 'Security Is An Art'. It was made public on 28 January on Data Privacy Day together with tips by the global security company on how to safeguard personal data. Among the recommendations, tips like checking the permission settings of social media accounts, using two-factor authentication for email addresses for sensitive transactions like banking services, using VPN in unsecured Wi-Fi networks, etc. For closer insights into cybersecurity, Kaspersky delivered two addresses where articles about the protection of online data (kaspersky.com/blog/tag/privacy/) and privacy themes in 2021 (securelist.com/privacy-predictions-for-2021/) collected by Kaspersky's cybersecurity experts are published.

Recently, the documentary video (embedded below) about the 'Kaspersky x Felipe Pantone' art collaboration was published. In the video, Felipe Pantone (based in Valencia, Spain) speaks about his art which roots in graffiti and the development of a style that is influenced by dynamism, speed. He compares graffiti on the streets with today's internet. Murals are over-painted as quickly as the internet is rewritten by people every day. Felipe Pantone works with a team to realize his works after research and by employing various analog and digital tools. In the video, the face of Felipe Pantone stays anonymous; he says "I can't find a single reason for me to show my identity. … I absolutely prefer to keep my identity private and to have people focus on my art." For the development of the artwork, he took a closer look at high-tech architecture; Felipe Pantone explains the architecture further as a "... kind of architecture that exposes the whole structure … I wanna evoke a shield that is there to protect the users, their identity..."
