'Dancer Against Cancer' presents Austrians from theater, film, sport,...with Renaissance, Baroque painting-like portraits photographed by Manfred Baumann

The annually released calendar is normally presented with an exclusive charity gala for the initiative 'Dancer Against Cancer' organised by dance school owner Yvonne Rueff. Due to the pandemic, the gala had to be postponed for the first time after 15 years. Reflecting the special year with postponed or canceled events and other insecurities of life, the calendar 2021 was produced without showing months or days. This year's calendar with life-affirming thoughts by Charlie Chaplin, Marc Aurel,... was developed as a special edition which pays tribute to life without chronological limits. It's announced that the images of the calendar will be exhibited as soon as possible at Yvonne Rueff's dance school 'Tanzschule Rueff'.

The photos are literally 'artworks'. For the 10th time, Vienna-based photographer Manfred Baumann portrayed well-known personalities, mainly Austrians, from TV, music, sport and society. The styling for the painting-like portraits with Renaissance and Baroque costumes and matching hair, makeup provide new perspectives on the media-proven faces. One of them is Austrian former ski jumper (first person worldwide who flew over 200 meters, Olympic and World Cup medalist) Andreas Goldberger who is known for being one of the faces of the Wings for Life World Run and for his activities as talent scout of young ski jumpers. Goldberger is almost unrecognizable with the untamed, not very aerodynamic eyebrows, beard and a cap (a beret) with a big feather. He appears as a strict looking man of the Renaissance. The time period (renaissance means translated rebirth) is characterized by the growing interest in sciences and social change.

The portrait of Andreas Goldberger is placed on the cover of the calendar which was produced by photo service and photo book provider CEWE. It's sold for the good cause at danceragainstcancer.com. All proceeds will be donated to the Österreichische Krebshilfe for the support of cancer research.
