Junghans intensifies cooperation with 'Athlete of the Year 2021' ski jumper Karl Geiger and favorite of the 70th Four Hill Tournament (29 December 2021 - 6 January 2022 in Germany and Austria)



On occasion of the 70. Vierschanzentournee (70th Four Hills Tournament), German watchmaker Junghans announced to intensify the cooperation with brand ambassador ski jumper Karl Geiger (posting on Instagram). Karl Geiger is one of the favorites of the upcoming World Cup events in Germany and Austria. The Vierschanzentournee is starting today on 29 December in Oberstdorf - a home game for the in 1993 in Oberstdorf, Bavaria born Karl Geiger. The tournament will be continued on 1st January 2022 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (Germany), 4th January in Innsbruck (Austria), and ends on 6th January in Bischofshofen (Austria).

The ski jumper received this year the 'Sportler des Jahres 2021' (Athlete of the Year) trophy awarded on basis of a poll among around 3.000 members of the Association if German Sports Journalists, who selected after the criteria achievements, attitude, fair play and records. At sportler-des-jahres.de, the history of the award (since 1947) and information about the wanted qualities of the athletes are published: A role model, extremely successful and who has received attention for his or her character.

Junghans is timing partner of sports events such as at the beginning of this year in February/March at the FIS Nordic Ski Championships in Oberstdorf where Karl Geiger won four medals, including two golds with the team and the mixed team. It's announced that the cooperation between Karl Geiger and Junghans will last until the end of the winter sports season 2023, including major international events such as the FIS Ski Flying World Championships 2022 in Vikersund, Norway and the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2023 in Planica, Slovenia.
