Salzburg Insights: Short film series presents people like alpine hut gastronomer, bio farmer or snowcat driver of the slow-tourism region Wagrain-Kleinarl

Wagrain-Kleinarl in the valley Kleinarl is known in Austria as a rather comfortable, family-friendly tourism region in Salzburg. It can't be found in chic ski or aprés ski destination rankings. What's great here for guests is the authentic experience of living in the mountains and in winter a solid Snow Space area which can be explored via skiers or snowboards by the whole family on for example a '12 Peaks Tour'.

Without any intention to sparkle glimmer and glam, the people of Wagrain-Kleinarl now opened for a short film series their homes and workplaces - which are in many cases the same - to give an authentic impression of the Salzburger rural style and the landscape that attract since more than one hundred years tourists from all over the world for recreation and sports activities like hiking or skiing.

According to the latest statistics, Wagrain-Kleinarl counts per year average 1,250,000 overnight stays, two thirds in the winter season. Wagrain has a population of around 3,000 people, Kleinarl a population of ca. 800. The region is committed to slow-tourism. So it's no wonder that most of the accommodation services are guesthouses, rooms in farms, apartments or alpine huts such as the one by gastronomer Alois Langegger who speaks in the video about running the 'Kleinarler Hütte' for guests.

The workplaces are passed on from generation to generation. Also in the case of Markus Schaidreiter who turned the business of his family into a bio farm. In the video with the esoteric title 'Trance', Markus speaks about his passion for the production of cheese. The short films surprise with unexpected scenes such as the video 'Galaktisch' (embedded below) of snowcat driver Markus Berger who appears in a silver suit with space helmet like an astronaut flying almost zero gravitation-like over a prepared slope.

It's announced that the short film series under the hashtag #urlaubsgefühl (means translated 'holiday feeling') will be continued until 2025. The first seven videos were launched on 1 October 2021. Main target group of the first series are guests from urban environments like Vienna, Munich, Hamburg, or Berlin. The campaign runs in digital and classical media.
