Cuisine, art, fashion insider tips for the route Vienna-to-Salzburg heading to the Salzburger Festspiele

Fashion.at received several tips from Salzburger and Upper Austrian insiders on what to visit on the route through Austria like on the direction Vienna to the city of Salzburg for visiting the Salzburger Festspiele (18 July until 31 August). Tips concerned French cuisine inspired culinary at 'Mayer's' restaurant at Schloss Prielau - the castle was once owned by the widow of playwright Hugo von Hofmannsthal, in the mountainous region Zell am See on lake Zellersee (in Salzburg), art exhibited at the 'Parallel Skulpturenpark' from 22 July until 26 August 2022 in the Toscana Park in Gmunden on lake Traunsee (in Upper Austria) on occasion of the art and music festival weeks 'Salzkammergut Festwochen Gmunden', or an art show at a fashion store in Hallein.

Hallein is from the mentioned destinations the nearest to the city of Salzburg. The Hallein-tip concerns the art & fashion exhibition 'Remixes & Mashups' of artworks by Vienna-based artist Ben Reyer and the sweatshirt and t-shirt collection 'Reyer X Reyer', a collaboration between the artist Reyer and the retailer Reyer - who are not related.

Insights into the presentation and pictures of the collaborative fashion collection are published with interview on reyerlooks.com about the shown art collages - remixes and mashups of comic figures, classical paintings, pin up photos,... - which are described by Ben Reyer with the term 'Agitation-Pop', a mix of propaganda and pop art with humorous views on our society. Ben Reyer is by the way the son of Austrian model Cordula Reyer and grandson of Walther Reyer who played from 1960 to 1968 the title role of 'Jedermann. The play about the Death of the Rich Man'. The theatre play by Hugo von Hofmannsthal is the traditional opening event of the Salzburger Festspiele. In 2022, the opening happens on 18 July (calendar) with a critically acclaimed cast under the direction of Michael Sturminger.
