The registration for the 'Patente Frauen' tours which can be attended for free thanks to Wiener Netze on 14 January and 21 January 2002 is already possible at technischesmuseum.at/event/patente_frauen! Wiener Netze is Austria's largest combined network operator (electricity, gas, district heating, telecommunications). Supporting women to step into the fields of science and research is one of the main topics of the political agenda in Vienna. The 'powered by Wiener Netze'-tours are a chance to learn about the impact women have in constructing our world like Austrian architect Margarete Schütte-Lihotzky whose design of the Frankfurter Kitchen was a groundbreaking concept for home furnishing, French physicist Marie Curie whose findings, keyword radioactivity, revolutionized medicine, or English mathematician Ada Lovelace who is considered the first programmer.
