Vienna Design Week presents new ways of cooperations between consumers and stores, handicraft, repair businesses at the fashion related 'Dare to Share and Wear' project from 16 to 25 September

The website viennadesignweek.at is continuously updated with news such as the dates for school tours through this year's focus district Mariahilf, the 6th district of Vienna, and with information about the strategies for the exploration of Mariahilf. The district is best known for its shopping streets and is home to creative studios such as for the design of fashion.

Fashion, design and shopping are also topics of one of the projects of this year's 'Stadtarbeit'. The programme format is an important pillar of Vienna Design Week for bringing together players from various fields like trade, creative industries and consumers. Central at the Stadtarbeit projects is the players' interactivity for the development of new strategies for a better future such as at the 'Dare to Share and Wear, Mariahüf!' mobile fashion swap along the Mariahilfer Strasse. The shopping street is strongly associated with fast fashion. The idea and concept behind the project on wheels for a 'Fashion Revolution' - such as it's introduced at the press release - was developed by Nina Sandino and Alexandra Fruhstorfer. The vehicle with the name OMG! (Open Mobile Garment!) will travel during Vienna Design Week between the railway station Westbahnhof and MuseumsQuartier for collecting clothes which are no longer needed or worn by the owner and supports this way the saving of resources and waste reduction by making pre-worn fashion items available to others. Shoppers, citizens of Vienna, visitors of the city are invited to join the fashion revolution by bringing and taking clothes for and from the swap. It's announced that the vehicle will become a meeting place for reflections upon long-lasting fashion and conscious consumption.
