Insight into the programme of the Austrian culture and information TV channel ORF III

Yesterday, Fashion.at attended the presentation of this year's programme of the information and culture TV channel 'ORF III' of the Austrian public broadcaster ORF. The channel is known for providing news content with live broadcasts, interviews and discussion groups for throwing light on current topics from various perspectives. The interest of the Austrian population determines in general the editorial line of the public broadcaster; in the case of the special-interest station ORF III, the output is high-level content for people interested in the background of what is happening, the causes.

The Austrian Broadcasting Corporation ORF has to fulfill various public service mandates. Another alongside the information is the education mission. In both disciplines, ORF III is the guarantee that the ORF fulfills its obligation. On 9 March at the Globe in the Marx Halle in the 3rd district of Vienna, the ORF III team around editor-in-chief Lou Lorenz Dittlbacher (in the picture above in a white blazer and trousers) presented the programme highlights of the ongoing year like the new documentary series 'Via Austriae' and live-broadcasts of high-culture events from theater, concert and opera stages. The 40-parts documentary series 'Via Austriae' goes back in time to the early beginnings of Austria up to nowadays with the mission to show new perspectives on the present and the possible futures in a historical context. Among the announced live broadcasts from opera stages are the country's most important venues like the Vienna State Opera, the Salzburger Festspiele, or the Oper im Steinbruch; last one was especially mentioned with view on George Biszet's 'Carmen' scheduled in July.
The evening ended with a performance by Patricia Nolz, who will appear as Cherubion in the Mozart opera 'Le Nozze di Figaro' at the Vienna State Opera from 11 March.

The third important pillar of ORF III are regional insights into life and culture, research, economic issues or art in Austria. Fashion.at expected one or two announcements in the field of design and fashion reporting. Ideally, a format that shows the range and diversity of Austrian creative people with a focus on design - whether product or fashion design, film equipment, costume design or jewelry. The common thread could be current topics such as sustainable design strategies of local creatives, the importance of traditional craftsmanship in today's design process, exhibitions dedicated to fashion, insights into the creation of costumes or the selection of clothing and accessories for upcoming opera performances, film and TV productions.
