Preview: Opening program of the European Capital of Culture Bad Ischl Salzkammergut 2024 with Hubert von Goisern, Conchita Wurst, and Doris Uhlich
Today Fashion.at received the invitation to the opening of the European Capital of Culture Bad Ischl Salzkammergut 2024, which starts with a two-day opening round (free admission) on January 20 and 21, 2024. The opening program is extensive and gives a first impression of what will be happening in the Salzkammergut with its 23 communities during the year - from music concerts to installations, exhibitions, performances, discussions and culinary events. Some 300 projects will explore themes such as the history of Jewish culture, the culture of remembrance, and the impact of colonialism and global trade on ecosystems.
The official opening will take place at 5 p.m. with a concert by Austrian alpine rock folk musician Hubert von Goisern and the Choir of 1000, followed by a performance by Tom Neuwirth, aka Conchita Wurst, who, according to the press release, will send a yodel around the world, and a 'powder dance' by Austrian dancer and choreographer Doris Uhlich, who is internationally known for her performances that focus on the body, particularly societal body images, defining perfection and imperfection.
