Siemens Fest>Spiel>Nächte public screening program with evening performances of sold-out 2023 operas and films of historical productions, as well as morning concerts and a special children's program

Fashion.at looked through this year's program on siemens.at/festspielnaechte of the Siemens Fest>Spiel>Nächte from 22 July until 27 August on Salzburg's Kapitelplatz.
Siemens Austria is one of the main supporters of the Salzburg Festival of opera, music and drama. The festival was held for the first time in 1920. It is strongly associated with high culture and is attended by guests from politics, business, society, and intellectual circles from the arts and sciences. Traditionally, the festival is opened with a speech by the President of Austria. This year, the keynote speaker will be quantum physicist Anton Zeilinger, 2022 Nobel Laureate in Physics. The opening speech on 27 July at 11:00 a.m. is one of the events that will be shown live on the large LED screen with daylight technology.

The public screening will begin on 22 July with a film by Hannes Rossacher, who became known for his music video productions. The film 'Jedermann Remixed' shows scenes from the theater play 'Jedermann' by Hugo von Hofmannsthal, selected from over 100 years of footage, with a specially created soundtrack by Hans Theessink.

Other highlights of the Siemens Fest>Spiel>Nächte public screening program through 27 August include screenings of this year's productions, including Guiseppe Verdi's 'Macbeth'. The opera will be shown live from the sold-out premiere on 29 July. Other new opera productions are Verdi's 'Falstaff' and Mozart's 'Le nozze di Figaro'. The program also includes evening screenings of historical performances such as Mozart's 1954 'Don Giovanni', and morning events for children such as Peter I. Tchaikovsky's ballet 'Peter and the Wolf' and Mozart's 'The Magic Flute for Children' with additional costume opportunities and live face paintings. The events for children aged five and above will take place every Friday from 28 July to 25 August, starting at 10 a.m.

The Siemens>Frühstücks>Konzerte (breakfast concerts) is a series of performances every Saturday from 22 July to 26 August, featuring selected pieces and orchestral highlights from the Salzburg Festival. As the name of the series suggests, the concerts can be enjoyed over a leisurely breakfast in the restaurant tent.
