The filming of the HBO series 'The Palace' started with Oscar winner Kate Winslet in the Palais Liechtenstein in Vienna

Four days ago, Austrian media released the news that the filming of the HBO series 'The Palace' with Kate Winslet started already in Vienna. The first location is the palace 'Palais Liechtenstein' in the 9th district of Vienna. Closer official details about the next locations aren't revealed yet. Today, the first official image provided by HBO was released with information about the role of the Vienna Film Commission in the plot of the making of. The Vienna Film Commission is a special service of the City of Vienna for film productions. The service reaches from finding locations to shooting permits. Vienna Film Commission CEO Marijana Stoisits spoke with Austrian media about the contact with HBO Vice President Jay Roewe and the positive coincidence that the new film funding model FISAplus by the Ministry of Labour and Economy was activated right in time. While on her flight back from Los Angeles to Vienna, the government presented the new incentive model. 'The Palace' is the first international project to be supported with funds from FISAplus.
