The new hotel Almanac Palais Vienna provided views of the interior design by award-winning Jaime Beriestain

The new hotel Almanac Palais Vienna, which will be in the soft opening phase from 23 February, provided on occasion of the announcement of the special offers for the first guests insights into the design of the interior of the prominently located palace vis-à-vis the Wiener Stadtpark at the Wiener Ringstrasse known for its architectural gems.

The palace, once built by Hugo Henckel von Donnersmarck in 1871/72 in Historicist style, is one of the hotel projects of the Haselbacher family. Herbert Haselbacher, who founded the property development company WSF Group in 1990, and his daughter Tina Haselbacher (studied architecture at the Technische Universität Wien) are responsible for the development and direction of the lifestyle boutique Almanac Hotels. For the interior design of the first Almanac hotel, the Almanac Barcelona opened in 2018, the developers teamed up with Condé Nast Architectural Digest 2016 award winner Jaime Beriestain.

The collaboration was now continued for the new project. Jaime Beriestain's lighting and color concept foresees the use of natural light through the windows and relaxed colors and tones. Tailor-made interior pieces reflect the palais' surrounding such as the restaurant's artwork by Alejandro Jaler and Nicola Lucas who are paying homage to the Wiener Stadtpark or the hotel's decoration which is inspired by the esthetics of Historicism of the Ringstrasse buildings and art, especially by the mosaics of Gustav Klimt and contemporary artists.

The country's lifestyle and the city's metropolitan culture are also theme for the concept of the restaurant and the cafe. The restaurant, which focuses on 'plant forward' cuisine with a less important role of meat, is inspired by Austria's alpine kitchen and Vienna's typical dishes. At the cafe, coffee of the own brand and local snacks will be served. The Almanac Concept Store and curated in-house happenings sound promising that the hotel will attract locals and visitors alike.
