Tyrol Insights: Michel Friess is the ARTfair Innsbruck 'Artist of the Year' and will sign a limited edition of one of his works at the fair, which takes place from 27 to 29 October

The largest art fair in the Austrian state of Tyrol, ARTfair Innsbruck, will take place at the Olympiaworld Innsbruck from 27 to 29 October. The fair, which presents international art of the 19th/20th/21st centuries with a focus on contemporary art, including 3D and AI digital technology, has named German Pop Art artist Michel Friess as its Artist of the Year 2023. Michel Friess will be presented by Art-Galerie am Hofsteig from Wolfurt, Vorarlberg, Austria, and will sign a limited edition of one of his works for the first visitors to the fair.

Friess is currently one of the most sought-after pop art artists and creates each of his works using a complex process of hand screen printing, painting, airbrushing and paper collage. His original works are offered at ARTfair Innsbruck at prices between 2,000 and 20,000 euros. Earlier this year in January 2023, Michel Friess participated in the Arnold Schwarzenegger Climate Action and donated the painting 'God Save the World' at the Special Dinner for Climate Action in Kitzbühel, Tyrol. A post on Michel Friess' Instagram shows the painting and the pictures from the charity event in Kitzbühel, where the artwork was auctioned for 30,000.- euros.

The State Secretary for Digitalization Florian Tursky will officially open the 27th ARTfair Innsbruck. Details of the program are published at https://www.artfair-innsbruck.com.
