Today Fashion at looked through the program (https://www.angewandtefestival.at/en/2024/programm/) of the upcoming Angewandte Festival, which will take place from June 26 to 29 primarily in the main buildings of the University of Applied Arts, especially at Oskar Kokoschka Platz and the other two main buildings - one at Vordere Zollamtstrasse and the other at the former Postal Savings Bank (Postsparkasse). In addition, the University festival takes place at various other locations throughout the city. The best way to get an overview of these venues is to visit the festival's website, where the menu item 'Exhibitions in the City' lists the program for each venue. Through exhibitions, performances and interactive formats curated by the departments with student works, the festival offers a glimpse into the education at Austria's top university for applied arts, which is known for its design programs for fashion, communication or film and stage, as well as fine and media arts, photography, architecture or art education, as well as interdisciplinary education in various departments. The festival kicks off on June 26 with events such as a tufting workshop by the Institute of Art and Technology's Department of Textile Technology from 11:00 to 14:00, and continues until midnight, ending with the dance floor party on Oskar Kokoschka Platz, which will be transformed into a specially designed car-free 'Piazza Novissima'. Other events can be visited every day during the festival, such as the Department of Design Investigations' 'What does it mean to be human', with reference to artificial intelligence and ecological intelligence. On the festival's website, a link leads to the department's projects, such as a student research entitled 'Fashion Therapy' on consumer behavior and fast fashion (https://designinvestigations.at/projects/3576/). On designinvestigations.at, the department presents the educational program, highlighting that students have completed internships at L'Oréal and Atelier Iris van Herpen in the past.
