Before yesterday's Closing Ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games at the Stade de France in Paris with the sensational show 'Records' - the title stands for the achievements of the athletes as well as the Golden Record sent into space in 1977 with the Voyager spacecraft, represented by an impressive performance of dancer Arthur Cadre dressed in a golden costume with magically vibrating wings (Instagram video with introduction by designer Kevin Germanier), with well orchestrated musical performances, a stunt by Tom Cruise with a movie like bridge to the next games in Los Angeles in 2028 and musical performances on Venice Beach by Red Hot Chili Peppers, Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre, the Olympic Team Austria met at the Austria House to look back on the games. Austria's 2024 Olympic team was the country's largest since Sydney 2000, with 83 athletes (81 of whom competed). For the first time in 20 years, there were two gold medals, a total of five medals - in sailing, sport climbing and judo. A total of 22 top-ten places were reached (including one fourth, four fifths, three sixths and one seventh place = nine Olympic diploma places in the top eight). Austria achieved 36th place in the medals table out of a total of 206 nations.
