The Heidi Horten Collection team asked people about their favorite works of art for the design of the upcoming new permanent exhibition

Today, the Heidi Horten Collection presented the results of the #ARTfluence initiative's voting for the favorite works of art that will shape the museum's new permanent exhibition, 'Klimt ⮂  Warhol,' which is scheduled to open on September 6. Over the course of nine months, more than 21,000 votes were cast, including 13,337 analog votes and 8,002 digital votes. The high level of participation underscores the diversity of the museum's audience and their varied artistic preferences.

In the press release, the ranking of the public's favorite artworks was sent out with additional information, such as whether the artwork was significantly chosen by a younger group. The most popular artwork was Paul Klee's 'Siblings,' followed closely by Yves Klein's 'Untitled Blue Sponge Relief (RE1),' which was particularly popular with younger adults. Roy Lichtenstein's 'Forest Scene' and René Magritte's 'L'Empire des Lumières' were also among the top selections, appealing to all age groups. In total, 46 works were up for voting, including notable pieces by Gustav Klimt and Andy Warhol.

The new exhibition will prominently feature these audience favorites, reflecting a modern approach to curating that emphasizes visitor engagement. The #ARTfluence project, developed in collaboration with the agency Felix, Paul + Freunde, showcases the museum's efforts to blend tradition with contemporary art experiences and deepen the connection between the institution and its audience.
