20 May 2024 Fashion.at wasn't at the recent dinner of the Austrian art, design and culture scene at the MAK Museum of Applied Arts, which was served on exclusive Gmundner fundraising plates with artwork by the country's celebrated artist Jakob Lena Knebl, but received a press release about the evening via the OTS Original Text Service of the Austrian press agency APA. Fashion.at is neither a financially interesting publication for fundraisers - Fashion.at needs support rather than being able to sponsor cultural institutions - nor is it particularly relevant to the Austrian culture and lifestyle market based on the number of visitors to the magazine. The exclusive dinner took place last week on May 16 at the museum's main location on Stubenring in Vienna's first district. Images of the guests invited by the MAK and the MAK Art Society provided a glimpse of the evening, showing selected guests from the approximately 140 artists and important personalities from the media and business world, as well as the table setting for the dinner. Among those invited and mentioned in the press release were artists such as Jakob Lena Knebl and Ashley Hans Scheirl, Birke Gorm, Ulrike Müller, Andreas Fogarasi, Gelatin, Magda von Hanau, Eva Schlegel and Manfred Wakolbinger, Peter Kogler and Hubert Scheibl; Leading figures from the art and culture scene such as Peter Aufreiter (TMW), Rector of the University of Applied Arts Petra Schaper Rinkel, Agnes Husslein-Arco (Heidi Horten Collection), gallery owner Emanuel Layr, Director Alfred Weidinger (Oberösterreichische Landes-Kultur GmbH), Gabriel Roland (Vienna Design Week) and Karl Regensburger (ImPulsTanz Festival); Managing Director of the high circulation daily newspaper 'Heute', Eva Dichand and publicists Martina and Karl Hohenlohe and Nicole Adler; as well as guests from business and industry. The artists' dinner was initiated to celebrate the creative power of applied arts. The event took place within the exhibition 'Hard/Soft. Textiles and Ceramics in Contemporary Art,' which showcased contemporary artistic designs. The day featured contributions from various artists, including a special edition of plates by Jakob Lena Knebl, created in collaboration with Gmundner Keramik, which were used to serve the meal. Proceeds from the event will support the MAK Collection and the upcoming major exhibition 'Peche Pop. Tracing Dagobert Peche in the 21st Century', which is scheduled to open in December 2024, details at https://www.mak.at/en/pechepop. Not on view in the image collection provided with the press release were pictures related to performances or installations that appeared as part of the artistic program according to the concept of a culinary local colorit, including an artist's performance at the piano. |
