He has also studied at Tel Aviv University and in Rome. Owen has been the recipient of several design awards and has shown his furniture and lighting designs in numerous solo and group exhibitions including several in Philadelphia as well as the Paris Furniture Fair, the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York City, the Material ConneXion, also in New York City, the Italian exhibition "Abitare il Tempo" in Veronal, Italy and in the current "American Design, 1975-2000" at the Denver Art Museum.
