Vienna Insight: Designforum Wien presents products from several decades like the new eBike Cross by Red Dot Design Award-winning Studio F. A. Porsche (19 Nov 2021 - 9 Jan 2022)
Studio F.A. Porsche (headquartered in Zell am See, Austria, sites in Berlin, Ludwigsburg, Los Angeles and Shanghai) received this year the honorary title 'Red Dot: Design Team of the Year'. The team is known for the quality, timelessness and functionality of the designs for products in various fields from fashion to mobility like tram designs. (Vienna's ULF tramway for example was recently mentioned in an article about the currently ongoing fashion presentation on the outsides of the tram in Vienna.)
On occasion of the exhibition 'Form Equals Function. Design by Studio F.A. Porsche', the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen published an introduction into the design approach of the studio, which was founded 1972 by Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, the designer of the first Porsche 911 (1963). Central at the approach is the equal interplay between form and function (red-dot-design-museum.org/essen/exhibitions/detail/566/form-equals-function-design-by-studio-f-a-porsche).
Now, the exhibition traveled from Essen, Germany to the Designforum in Vienna where designs from several decades like the 'Porsche 911' from 1963 to the 'Porsche eBike Cross' from 2021 will be on view from 19 November 2021 until 9 January 2022 (details at designforum.at/veranstaltung/form-equals-function-design-by-studio-f-a-porsche).
