Taking a Fashionable Step: Toro y Moi's Hole Erth Album Release Features 'Walking in the Rain' Video with Salehe Bembury and Crocs Collaboration

Toro y Moi's 'Hole Erth' album release includes a collaboration with designer Salehe Bembury and Crocs, showcased in the music video for 'Walking In The Rain,' which premiered a few hours ago on YouTube, featuring Toro y Moi's Chaz Bear wearing Bembury's new 'Pollex Cypress Boot'. Bembury became internationally known for designing sneakers for Yeezy. In 2020, he took on the role of vice president of sneakers and men's footwear at Versace and continued collaborations such as with Crocs. His footwear designs are inventive and inspired by nature. Salehe Bembury has collaborated with Crocs several times since their first partnership in 2021. His most notable work includes the 'Pollex Clog', which features his signature wave motif. The new boot, the Pollex Cypress, is inspired by the cypress tree.

In the video, Bembury makes a cameo appearance as a news anchor, adding a playful touch and emphasizing his role in the creative vision of the project. Hole Erth itself has received considerable critical attention as Toro y Moi's most ambitious album to date. Rolling Stone highlights Bear's artistic freedom on this project, while Paste Magazine calls it a foundation for the future of music, blending genres with multigenerational appeal. Consequence praises Bear's "inimitable style" and Flood Magazine admires the album's honest, imaginative approach that avoids falling into nostalgia. Hypebeast notes that Hole Erth expands Bear's already diverse sonic palette, embracing a range of influences from pop-punk to hip-hop with a boundary-breaking ease. In support of Hole Erth, Toro y Moi has announced a North American and European tour for 2025, with special guest Panda Bear joining the North American dates. The tour will kick off in Minneapolis on February 6 and will include stops in New York, Chicago and Washington, D.C., followed by a European and UK tour starting in Dublin on March 3.
