Fashion.at wishes Happy New Year with a review of the most viewed content in 2023 and how it might evolve in 2024

An impression of the past is only gained when the effects of innovations, political measures, or natural events have been realized. In many cases, annual reviews show the sensational news of the past year, such as the widespread use of AI, with an outlook on the most likely long-term changes it will cause. People's use of AI like GPT - Generative Pre-trained Transformers - in their personal and business lives is at the forefront of annual reviews, including the predictions about how the disruptive technology will change our lives.

At Fashion.at, AI is part of the editorial process. It's used for research, as an advanced proofreader, or to create images like the one on this page, which shows the number of the new year, assembled from many images on a Rubik's Cube-like puzzle piece. The puzzle's images tell different stories depending on where we turn them. The pieces of the near past do not yet form a coherent overall picture. Even though many of the most important building blocks for next year are already in place, in 2024 they will still be more of the future than the past.

The most visited new content published this year is the magazine's fashion chatbot called 'Cytara', which regularly addresses new topics. The visual representation of Cytara constantly changes to match the topics of the conversation. In 2024, Cytara could come in motion and appear as a digitally animated character, speaking on current topics in her own voice created especially for her. Maybe she will be able to show waltz dance steps, demonstrate fitness exercises, or give clear tips on how to repair a garment by showing each step.

Fashion.at is looking forward to the New Year 2024!

Check out the 2023 retrospective, including the most read articles from the perspective of how social and environmental issues were addressed by designers, artists or fashion-related exhibitions and events.
