MQ Vienna Fashion Week opened with an illustrious event for the runway presentation of key pieces from the upcoming shows

The MQ Vienna Fashion Week started with the opening event for the runway presentation of key pieces from the upcoming shows which will happen over the next days from 13 to 17 September at the tent in front of the MuseumsQuartier (MQ), the name-giving location of the fashion week.

Stylist Sammy Zayed arranged outfits by 33 very differently working designers for a show that united festive wear by couturiers like Thang de Hoo whose multicolored sequins-dress appeared on the runway otherworldly surrounded by thousand star lights and everyday wear such as by functional couture label 'Art Point' by designer Lena Kvadrat whose theatrical performance-walk proved streetwear credibility with bicycle helmet object and mechanical moves. The music and choreography matched the diverse styles perfectly and ended with the defilee to the city's unofficial anthem 'Vienna Calling' by Falco.

The event before and after the show was a come-together of designers and representatives of the Viennese media and entertainment business. Fashion.at talked with designer Tayida Ounburanawan whose label 'Marionsiam' will be presented on 15 September at the 'Headicraft - THAIdentity Night' on the MQ Vienna Fashion Week runway. The designer develops the textile patterns and the clothes' cuts from traditional techniques and sources her inspirations from the history of Thailand for a modern Thai style (article).
