Vienna Insight: Press days with new Austrian jewelry, hair care and fashion brands at Hotel Motto

The seasonal press days are currently taking place in Vienna. On these days, press agencies and their clients present their latest product developments, collections or services. Yesterday, when Fashion.at visited one of these media events at the Hotel Motto, the provider of the food saving app 'Too Good To Go' (founded 2015 in Denmark) talked about their latest new partnership with the drugstore chain BIPA, which also offers food. It's the first partnership with a drugstore retailer in Europe. Too Good To Go is best known for providing access to unsold food from hotels, restaurants and shops at lower prices via a handy app that shows nearby locations and allows users to order the goods directly.

The clients of the press agencies come from different countries. Fashion.at focused on Austrian brands such as 'boops', founded two years ago by Rana Aktas, a trained marketing and communications professional who, before entering the jewelry business, worked for the fashion brand Quipster and her family's chemical company. The decision to start a jewelry business was born out of a fruitless search. Rana Aktas was looking for classic hoop earrings and basic necklaces at affordable prices. This was the starting point of 'boops' - a word creation of basic and hoops. Yesterday, the focus was on classic necklaces that the boops founder associated with the trends of the 70s, such as the flat herringbone chain or the box chain, also called Venetian chain.

Another brand new label from Austria is Lu&me, founded one year ago in 2022. Co-founder Nadine Hak, whose daughter Louanne 'Lu' is the brand's namesake, introduced the line of hair care products made in Tyrol with natural mountain spring water from the region. The former Schwarzkopf manager brings knowledge of high quality hair care and the distribution channels in which the products will perform best. The brand received the European Green Award 2023 for its certified products, which are already available in hair salons and the European beauty chain Douglas. A contract with a BtoB hair professional retailer is currently being negotiated.

The clothing label DeLin has already appeared twice in articles on Fashion.at. In February of this year (article), the focus was on the production of the sustainable unisex pieces, which are available in two sizes. In summer (article), DeLin founder Julia Deiger (studied at Esmod Berlin and worked for labels like Stone Island) presented the collection with a campaign shot at Lake Neusiedl in Burgenland. For fall/winter, DeLin presented the range of basics such as the label's bestseller 'Dein Liebstes Hemd' (Your Favorite Shirt) styled for colder days with a photo campaign shot in Innsbruck, the capital of Tyrol.
