Volkskundemuseum Wien opens new Café Hildebrandt at baroque Garden Palace Schönborn with dinner, exhibition and palace backstage tour series in January 2019

On 8 January 2019, the Austrian Museum of Folk Life and Folk Art 'Volkskundemuseum Wien' opens the new 'Café Hildebrandt' - named after the architect of the baroque palace (built in the years around 1710) 'Gartenpalais Schönborn' Johann Lukas von Hildebrandt, with a special dinner including a guided tour through the current exhibitions and additional explorations of areas of the building which are normally hidden to visitors such as the attic or the former wine cellar of the castle.

At the 'Blue Salon' (on view at the image below), the culinary experience begins with an amuse-gueule before the dinner (with or without meat) starts at Café Hildebrandt. Café Hildebrandt's chef Daniel Karl is known for his restaurant 'Biodeli' where dishes made of orangic products are served; Biodeli was listed recently by 1000things.at as one of the top locations for healthy food in Vienna.

The Hildebrandt dinner with exhibitions and palace tour on 8 January is the first of a series; announced are already further 'Dinner im Palais' events on 24 January, 21 February, and 14 March.
