BWM Architects' design of 'Salon Sacher' in Vienna is a time travel from the 1920s over 50s to the future

Inside at the new 'Salon Sacher' in Vienna, the organic design may remind visitors of Captain Nemo's 'Nautilus' (from Jules Verne's novel) or make them think of sitting in a submarine navigating between corals (coral is one of the main colors) while sipping on the salon's absinthe-mix 'Death in the Afternoon' and enjoying the generous views at Philharmoniker Street and Vienna State Opera. Front row at one of the finest streetwalks of the city!

Architects of the new salon at Hotel Sacher Vienna (where the famous cake 'Sacher-Torte' comes from) is the team of Vienna-based BWM Architekten who publish a description of the style elements, especially the preserved stucco at the ceiling, found while working on the redesign of the former Sacher Stube and turning it into a time-traveler experience.

Salon Sacher serves alongside to goose liver mousse, truffle ham or Salade Russe (dishes already provided in times of famous hotelier Anna Sacher, lived from 1859 until 1930), cocktail creations and absinthe compositions referencing the 1920s, also confiserie such as the Original Sacher Cube (on view at the showcase below), the handy version of Sacher cake.

In 2017, BWM Architekten redesigned already Sacher Eck, combining Sacher shop and Café Sacher.
