Sustainable food and meal production are practised at a culinary happening under the motto 'zero waste' and at slow cooker bag sewing workshops during Vienna Design Week starting tomorrow on 24 September (until 3 October)

Recently, Fashion.at looked through the programme of Vienna Design Week with a closer view at the events at this year's headquarters at Sachsenplatz in Brigittenau, the 20th district of Vienna (article). Now, Fashion.at looked through the programme for more information about one of the main topics Food & Design where sustainable food and meal production, consumption can be actively practised at events like a culinary happening and slow cooker sewing workshops.

Let's start with the sewing workshop for making a bag which is a portable slow cooker. The portable do-it-yourself slow cooker is a project by EOOS NEXT. Additionally to the sewing workshops, the social project by design studio EOOS organises for a limited number of participants a slow cooking experience from leftovers from cooperating gastronomy. Another event concerning food and design is the experimental cooking happening under the motto 'zero-waste' on 28 September from 18:00 - 24:00 during MAK Design Nite 2021. Participants will get insights on how to turn waste into valuable food; registration is required (details at mak.at/makdesignnite2021).
