Vienna Design Week (24 Sept - 3 Oct) presented the programme of events like shoe, bag design workshops, exhibition of a fashion designer's watch, or art-design installations and details about the pop-up café at the headquarters

Vienna Design Week provides every year views on the city from new angles thrown from annually changing locations of the headquarters. This year, it's the 20th district of Vienna named 'Brigittenau' where the base is located. The design week is for the first time directed by Gabriel Roland introduced by VDW co-founder Lilli Hollein who is since this year the new director of the MAK - Museum of Applied Arts. (Article about the logo of Vienna Design Week 2021 Brigittenau.) Recently, the online programme and some details about the headquarters were released at viennadesignweek.at.

The programme can be filtered after date, category, format, location for finding for example the 'Guided Tours' (walking or cycling) or events which happen on a specific location such as the headquarters at Sachsenplatz. One of the VDW2021 installations is driven by optimism and the development of strength from catastrophic times: The 'Post-Apocalyptic Kaffeehaus' curated by Vienna Design Week director Gabriel Roland is announced as an artful staging of design objects.

Coffee is a theme at Vienna Design Week this year! Visitor can get their cup of coffee at the headquarters' own 'Pop-Up Café' which is open for the public over the runtime from 24 September until 3 October.

Other highlights Fashion.at saw at the programme (fast checked today) are the workshops '3-D Printing' and 'Sketching' by shoes, bags, accessories design studio Lukács László Vienna or the presentation of the collaborative collection of watches by Rado and international designers. Special highlight is fashion designer Marina Hoermanseder's new interpretation of Rado's 'Captain Cook' watch.
