Vienna is a paradise for coffee, fine bakery and patisserie. Not only the coffee culture of the city can be found on the tracks and routes to interesting international destinations (Fashion.at reported yesterday; article), thanks to the appeal of the Viennese lifestyle, Vienna is also a magnet for companies from abroad. Starting next year, the Viennese will be able to enjoy baguettes, croissants and patisserie from the French bakery Paul. This week, Maison Paul (founded in France in 1889) announced that it will open its first shop in Vienna in spring 2025, marking its expansion into Austria. With over 800 locations in more than 54 countries, Paul is internationally known for its traditional French bakery. According to Delphine Vignaux-Hieke, Managing Director of Paul Austria, the brand will complement Austria's strong bread culture by combining French quality with local ingredients, while flour for key products will still come from France. The first branch will open near the Hundertwasserhaus in Vienna, with additional locations planned in Salzburg, in the Vienna city centre and the surrounding area. The goal is to offer high-quality baked goods at moderate prices, making everyday indulgence accessible, according to the press release. There are also plans to offer brunch and a restaurant experience. Photo: © Paul. |
