Designs for jewelry, fabrics, furniture,... by Viennese Modernism artist Koloman Moser exhibited at MAK Vienna

Koloman Moser is in fashion! Viennese Modernism artist Koloman Moser (lived from 1868 until 1918) was mentioned by Fashion.at several times during the last around one year starting with the first mention of the upcoming MAK exhibition 'Koloman Moser. Universal Artist between Gustav Klimt and Josef Hoffmann' (19 December 2018 - 22 April 2019) on occasion of the collaboration of designers and the MAK team for lingerie that referenced works (sketch of a chandelier, flower print,...) by Koloman Moser who approached art and design with the aim to create a Gesamtkunstwerk or total work of art.

Koloman Moser and the Viennese Modernism artists (such as Gustav Klimt), designers (like Josef Hoffmann) and architects established design on a Gesamtkunstwerk level which includes both, design and art concerning design that fulfills demands into functionality of everyday objects and the idea of bringing art (previously reserved as a luxury of the elite) to the masses; prominently manifested in Vienna at the architecture by Otto Wagner who was an important 'influencer' of the Viennese art scene at the turn of the 19th to the 20th century. MAK stages the exhibition like a timeline of Koloman Moser's life and includes insights into the art movement's most important pillars co-founded by Koloman Moser: Wiener Secession and Wiener Werkstätte. Designs for jewelry, fabrics, furniture,... are highlights of the exhibition.
