Kunsthalle Wien exhibition 'Time Is Thirsty' stages 1990s art and culture including fashion & music

Kunsthalle Wien pays tribute to its opening year in 1992 and the 90ies art scene which merged in these years interdisciplinarily consumer culture like fashion with music (mentioned are raves), technology (internet, mobile phones) and art.

For the exhibition 'Time Is Thirsty' from 30 October 2019 until 26 January 2020 at Kunsthalle Wien at Museumsquartier, the approach to the creation of culture in the 90ies is staged theatre-like as all senses-experience of past and future looping in the present. It's announced that Italian fashion designer Fabio Quaranta will use for the styling of the visitors service team of Kunsthalle Wien clothing from the 1990ies and today; the exhibition hall will be scented with the olfactory impression of Vienna in 1992 composed by artist and scent scientist Sissel Tolaas (created recently four scents for the Balenciaga SS20 show in Paris - Instagram); and inside the exhibition space, the show of artworks and artefacts from the 1990ies will be accompanied by playlists compiled by British musician and founder of the independent label Mego, Peter Rehberg, and the Italian electronic music duo Vipra.

'Time Is Thirsty' will be opened on 29 October at 19:00 with a jam-session with Nick Bastis, Cara Benedetto, Anna-Sophie Berger, Pierre Joseph, Fabio Quaranta, Peter Rehberg, Georgia Sagri, Vipra.
