Co-founder of Salzburg headquartered brand Quipster Alina al Wazzan-Aktas presents on occasion of Women's Day (8 March) her favorite shirt: Lady Liberty

Each year on 8th March, people celebrate with special activities, products and even holidays the basic human right 'gender equality' for all fields, if its income or media coverage. The history of the International Women's Day reaches back to around 1910 and is strongly connected to female workers in textile manufactories and their protests. In Austria, the Federal Ministry for Sustainability and Tourism has included the day into its event calendar with reference to women's fight for the right to vote during times of World War I. Berlin for example has declared this year the 8th of March as official 'Women's Day'-holiday. The activities on this day differ from continents, countries and cities. Only a few organizations are setting international agendas such as the United Nations who have chosen for 2019 the motto "Think Equal, Build Smart, Innovate for Change" with focus on infrastructure (keyword: build smart) providing safety and mobility for women and girls. A sort of freedom, women in many countries don't know.
