"Are you still missing a special wall decoration in your apartment?" Austria's new online gallery galartery.com presents works by artist J.F. Sochurek

The Austrian art retail platform Galartery was launched this year as virtual extension of the contemporary art fairs Art Innsbuck and Art Salzburg with a wide range of artworks such as street art-inspired paintings by Jonas Deubelbeiss (article) or objects and paintings by F.J. Sochurek .

Galartery has a very grounded approach to the art business and sells affordable art with prices that are calculated by the artists with additional seasonal discount offers like the current -10% Christmas discount. In the latest press release, the online retailer asks "Are you still missing a special wall decoration in your apartment?" and presents the optimistic works by J.F. (Josef Friedrich) Sochurek who studied in the 1960s at the University of Applied Arts and exhibits since the 1970s worldwide. He was awarded with several prizes such as in 2018 with the Gold Medal of Honor for Services to the State of Lower Austria (Goldenes Ehrenzeichen für Verdienste um das Bundesland NÖ). At Sochurek's work, industrial materials, aluminum tubes and panels become canvases for monochrome color compositions and objects for the wall. One of the artist's recurring motifs is the 'window'. It appears on the wall in an apartment like a room opener.
