20 September 2022 ![]() The Austrian algae food brand 'Spirulix' was recently selected for the Sial Innovation Awards 2022 of the international food fair Sial Paris which will happen in October. Last week, Spirulix appeared as sponsor and partner of the Vienna premiere of the sci-fi movie 'Rubikon'. The film was produced during the pandemic in 2020 and had its world premiere already this summer in July. The story takes place in the year 2056 on a space station where scientists are researching algae for providing oxygen and food on earth.
The astronauts become witnesses of a catastrophe on earth which causes the covering of the planet with a toxic smog.
The Guardian closes the article 'Rubikon review – toxic fog takes over in nifty multilingual sci-fi' with the note that "... the costumes are oddly covetable, especially the…" and closer description of a piece from the film.
'Rubikon' is costume designer Monika Buttinger's second film this year that received attention by the media; the costume-drama 'Corsage' was selected in mid-September as Austrian submission for the Oscars 2023 (source). |
