Tips for climate friendly traveling: The RailJet from Vienna or the Alpen Express from Amsterdam are two of six trains on European rail routes presented by Zell am See-Kaprun

Recently, Zell am See-Kaprun started the Après Ski alternative initiative at selected gastronomy locations with the pandemic-adapted safety concept 'Aprčs Chill' with two main differences to Aprčs Ski especially concerning music and dancing (article). Now, the region - which is also one of the country's climate and energy tourism focus regions - presented its latest practicable implementation of one of Austria's goals. This time it's the reduction of the CO2 footprint with measures like mobility services which make car-free holidays more comfortable than driving your own vehicle from Vienna or Munich to the hotel and every day of the holidays to the slopes and possibly in the evening to a restaurant or bar. With a network of trains and buses such as the 100% electric ski bus, which brings skiers to slopes like the Kitzsteinhorn in Kaprun, and additional e-bike and car-sharing services, tourists have the freedom to choose the best mobility service for every opportunity.

The train services such as the RailJet from Vienna to Zell am See with the special additional offer of the combined train + ski ticket (from 70.- Euro), or the Alpen Express, which is presented with a map showing the stations of the rail route such as Den Haag, Amsterdam, Utrecht, Eindhoven, Köln,..., are listed at tourismus-modellregion.at/urlaubsgenuss-in-vollen-zuegen/.
