Glam punk sings up for individual beauty

"We can play it safe, or play it cool, follow the leader, or make up all the rules, whatever you want, the choice is yours, So choose" sings feministic glam punk Beth Ditto provoking the ones who still believe in standardized individuals.

Already in 2007, the singer/songwriter Beth Ditto (born in Arkansas, US) has got attention from the feminist academic world such as the Australian Professor Germaine Greer who has explained that "...her intention is to force acceptance of her body type, 5ft tall and 15 stone, and by this strategy to challenge the conventional imagery of women."

In the meanwhile not only 'Kaiser' Karl Lagerfeld has thrown an eye on the artist. The UK store chain (over 330 stores) for plus size fashion 'Evans' presents in spring/summer 2009 a collection called 'Beth Ditto at Evans' in selected shops as well as online. Evans was awarded with several prizes like 'Cosmopolitan Online Fashion Awards 2008', 'Celebs on Sunday Magazine Awards 2007, 'Company High Street Awards 2006' etc.

On, Beth Ditto's fashion world with photos by Rankin and making-of movie is published alongside to the store with pieces such as a purple sequin top, Beth Ditto's prominent 'domino print dress' and other pieces perfectly made for plus size fashionistas.

The Gossip and Beth Ditto are on tour: 13 July Barcelona, 15 Jul Turin, 16 Jul Zurich, followed by Germany, France, United Kingdom, New York...
