Artists on denim about the global climate

The Italian denim brand Diesel invites under the title 'Art on Denim' to live performances by illustrator Franke and fashion-artist Komet Rock about an environmental theme on 28 and 29 August 2009 into the stores in Linz and Graz in Austria. It is the final event of the „Life / Lovestory of my favorite denim" campaign by Diesel.

On two days, the artists customize jeans with an original artwork focusing on an environmental theme: the global climate. In August 2009, thunder-storms have caused heavy damages in the provinces around Linz and Graz. 'Rain, Storm & Fog' is a regional concern which had been discussed intensively with references to the global situation.

Franke's motto is "The best things in life are still made by hand!". On www.myspace.com/frankeillustrator a friend describes him as a very talented (he was the youngest student accepted by the Hochschule für künstlerische und industrielle Gestaltung in Linz, Austria) lover of freedom (he broke up his studies at the university to settle in Vienna) who is addicted to music (his creations for album covers are very popular in Austria's music scene).

Komet Rock alias Paul Dworacek, a former dancer on Broadway, The Dome, MTV Awards, etc, was inspired for his urban streetwear fashion label 'GhettoGroove Designz' by the New York breakdance scene of the 80ies. Komet is working with airbrush on textiles, furniture, facades etc.
