The fashion press in love with a musician

In June, the fashion world has discovered Florence Welch as a new star of the music scene: the Vogue ran a feature about Florence's wardrobe, discussing here on-stage and off-stage outfits, the Telegraph magazine produced a four page feature and has described her as "Kate Bush meets Aretha Franklin", and UK designer Paul Smith wrote on his blog on 9 June 2009 "Listening to Florence and the Machine, love it." (Read the interview with Paul Smith beautyme.com/fragrance/2009/paulsmith6-2009.htm about internet, the unexpected...)

Hearing Florence and The Machine evokes the impression as if Kate Bush is dancing to the music of the White Stripes, cooled down by Tom Waits-Nick Cave sounds, with a touch of Bjork's eccentricity. On her website is published that: “Everything is about boys!” she laughs. “The whole album is about love – and pain. People see my lyrics as crazy, but to me it’s an honest, heartfelt album. I didn’t set out to be wacky. I just want it to be emotive.”

Florence and The Machine is on tour: 21 June 2009 at the Hurricane Festival in Germany, 26 June Manchester UK, 3 July 2009 Belfort FR and on the same day at the Hyde Park in London UK... to name only a few www.last.fm/music/Florence+and+The+Machine.

Watch out the video: The track 'Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up)' by Florence and The Machine from the debut album 'Lungs' will be released on 21 June 2009. The video about a girl in a magical forest who reaches the limelight by giving up parts of her under the motto "this is a gift, it comes with a price" is directed by Tom Beard and Tabitha Denholm. On her website the Londoner musician Florence Welch offers a pre-order of the track florenceandthemachine.net. The soul inspired indie album 'Lungs' comes out on 6 July.
