Haute Couture: Giorgio Armani Privé 'Hommage Au Japon' FW2011/12

On 5 July, the Giorgio Armani Privé FW2011/12 collection 'Hommage Au Japon' made of colorful print details on kimono inspired dresses, gowns, and silky suits - some of the pieces with laquer belts or satin stomacher and stomacher extended into the upper part of the corsage, was presented during the Haute Couture shows in Paris. The artful hats are designed by Philip Treacy. The video from the catwalk can be watched on youtu.be/KbNVonl-0rg.

"Japanese visual icons - ranging from parasols to cherry blossoms - were predictably transmuted in prints, and, equally predictably, there were obilike belts and origamilike folds," reports Tim Blanks about the samurai influenced collection on style.com/fashionshows/review/F2011CTR-APRIVE.
